FRÜHLINGSGRÜßE / SPRING GREETINGS
Natalia Rojcovscaia-Tumaha's piece "Frühlingsgrüße" or "Spring Greetings" for soprano, violin and piano based on a poem by the Austrian romantic poet Nikolaus Lenau, as well as wonderful paintings by children of the Theatre Union of Children of Moldova "Globe", delightful choreography and dance by Camille Pepper, brilliant performance by Michaela Stiles, Elizabeth Milan and Fernando Garcia, remarkable film direction of Stepan Rojcovschi and wise leadership of our executive producer Vladimir Tumaha - all this has grown into a new innovative Cross-Art Microfilm from our Guild of Art Creators' ART Imaginarium project! Here is our message: “May our world be filled only with kindness, mutual understanding and respect, may it become more caring, compassionate and loving and may spring greetings be affectionate and inspiring for everyone, may they justify bright hopes and fulfill the good dreams of all people on earth!” Program Notes: "FRÜHLINGSGRÜßE / SPRING GREETINGS": Composed for soprano, violin, piano, dancer and reciter FRÜHLINGSGRÜßE / SPRING GREETINGS is a dramatic song set to the evocative words of Austrian romantic poet Nikolaus Lenau. The text paints a poignant contrast between the beauty of early spring and the harsh realities of human suffering. As the gentle breezes of spring begin to thaw the long winter frost, a beggar child brings the first violets — a touching symbol of both renewal and hardship. Lenau’s poem reflects on the irony of spring’s hopeful message being delivered by one who suffers, emphasizing that even in pain, there is room for beauty and the promise of brighter days. In this composition, the music captures the delicate balance between fragility and strength. The opening passages express the tender arrival of spring, with melodic lines that evoke the soft winds and first blooms. However, beneath this lies a deeper, more reflective current, as the music explores the emotional weight of poverty, loss, and resilience. The song is both a meditation on beauty and a philosophical protest against indifference, ultimately resolving in a tone of hope — a belief in the possibility of a kinder future. This piece, relevant to the challenges of modern times, embodies a sense of longing for compassion and a brighter tomorrow. It is a tribute to the human spirit, to those who continue to seek light amidst darkness. Additionally, the I invite you to experience a Cross-Art Microfilm based on FRÜHLINGSGRÜßE / SPRING GREETINGS, created as part of the ART Imaginarium project. This unique genre synthesizes various forms of art to convey messages of hope, humanity, and empathy. THE CAT
🐈⬛ Meet our next innovative Cross-Art Microfilm “The CAT” from the creative team of ART Imaginarium, which is presented by Natalia Rojcovscaia-Tumaha - composer, Stepan Rojcovschi - film director, Yurii Palkov - artist, Vladimir Tumaha - executive producer. At the core of "ART Imaginarium" lies a profound mission: to unravel greater multidimensional truthfulness, philosophical depth, and semantic richness in the world of art. This ambitious undertaking aims not only to expand the boundaries of creativity, to wield an enlightening influence on individuals by fostering a deeper connection between art and human experience, but to cohesive inter-ethnic and inter-state relations by facilitating the unification of people based on cultural values. 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 Cats have long captivated the human imagination. They have been a source of fascination for humans for centuries, and their behavior and characteristics contribute to the multifaceted image they project. One of the most perplexing aspects of cats is their seemingly contradictory nature. On one hand, they exude an air of regal independence, moving with a grace that suggests an inherent self-sufficiency. Yet, at the same time, they seek out the warmth and comfort of human companionship, snuggling in laps and purring contentedly. Also, their ability to seamlessly transition between predator and pampered pet only adds to their unpredictability. All this paradoxical blend of aloofness and affection contributes to the enigmatic aura that surrounds cats. The eyes of a cat are often regarded as windows to an inscrutable world. With pupils that dilate and contract like cosmic portals, a cat's gaze is simultaneously penetrating and elusive. It is as if they hold secrets that transcend the human realm, leaving us to ponder the depth of their perception and the mysteries they may witness in the shadows. At the same time, they are able to open our hearts and become their complete masters. Throughout history, cats have held diverse and often contradictory symbolic meanings across different cultures. In ancient Egypt, they were revered as sacred beings, associated with the goddess Bastet and believed to possess protective qualities. In Norse mythology, the goddess Freyja rode in a chariot pulled by two large cats, linking these animals to both fertility and magic. On the flip side, medieval European folklore often depicted cats as witches' familiars, embodying a darker, more mysterious aspect. The enigmatic nature of cats has permeated literature and art for centuries. From Edgar Allan Poe's mysterious short story "The Black Cat" to T.S. Eliot's whimsical poems in "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats," authors have woven the mystique of cats into the fabric of storytelling. Cats can be portrayed as magical and wise, like the Cheshire Cat in "Alice in Wonderland," or as mischievous and unpredictable, such as the cat in the Dr. Seuss book "The Cat in the Hat". Likewise, artists like Leonardo da Vinci and Édouard Manet have captured the elusive elegance of cats in their paintings, perpetuating the fascination with these creatures. As we continue to share our lives with these captivating companions, the mystique of the cat endures, inviting us to appreciate the beauty of the enigma that is the domestic feline. 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 Performers: Rachael Lawson – flute Ryder Kaya – bassoon Alex Nagy – piano Florida State University College of Music New Music Ensemble “Polymorphia” Fall Concert November 17, 2023

ANCIENT CLOCK
Ancient Clock is the first of a series of author's works of the Art Imaginarium project. ART Imaginarium is based on the synergy of different kinds of arts and is the new brainchild of great professionals and members of the Culture & Art Creators Guild. THE TIMEKEEPER'S LAMENT In the heart of the cosmos, where galaxies dance, The clock of the Universe, its fate in advance. A personification of time, it stands so tall, Inexorably moving, through history's thrall. Tick-tock, it whispers, as it marks each day, A guardian of moments, as they fade away. But don't be deceived, for time's more than it seems, A sentient force, woven into our dreams. It reflects our reality, a mirror so clear, As it marches forward, year after year. But time, oh time, it's not just a measure, It's a living, breathing, responsive treasure. It senses our joys, our sorrows, our strife, And sometimes it quickens, or slows down life. It reacts to our choices, our love, and our fears, A witness to laughter, to sadness, to tears. The clock is a reminder, we are not on our own, In this vast cosmic dance, we're all but a part of the whole. Time's hand on the brink of a world that may shatter, A reminder that now is all that truly matters. So, let's cherish each moment, make every one count, For time's not just a clock, it's a gift we surmount. In this grand Universe, with its secrets so vast, Time whispers the truth, that our present won't last. © Natalia Rojcovscaia-Tumaha Creators, organizers and participants of the Ancient Clock: Vladimir Tumaha - Executive Producer Stepan Rojcovschi - Film Director Fernando Garcia - Concert Pianist Natalia Rojcovscaia-Tumaha - Composer of the “Ancient Clock”, Author and Performer of the Poem “The Timekeeper's Lament” Florida State University College of Music FSU Society of Composers, Inc. THE GREAT FANTASTIC BALL
"The Great Fantastic Ball" for violin and piano is the second audiovisual work within the framework of the CrossArt Project "ART Imaginarium", which is presented by a professional working group: Natalia Rojcovscaia-Tumaha - composer, Stepan Rojcovschi - film director, Olesea Shibaeva and Yurii Palkov - artists, Vladimir Tumaha - executive producer. The "ART Imaginarium" is a groundbreaking Cross-Art Project that transcends traditional boundaries, bringing together professionals from diverse artistic backgrounds to collaborate and forge innovative transformations. This entirely author-driven initiative serves as an avant-garde space, a haven for free Art Creators, uniting minds from various creative domains to collectively shape novel art forms. The project has recently unveiled three premiere works on its imaginative stage. "Ancient Clock" seamlessly wove together the realms of music and poetry, and meanwhile, "The Great Fantastic Ball" and "The Cat", which will also be published soon, emerged as a multifaceted spectacle, incorporating music, fine art and animation. This Sonata-Fantasy, based on the novel by M. Bulgakov "The Master and Margarita", begins with a magnificent and pompous waltz, among which there is a touching and restless image of Margarita - the queen of the ball, who is waiting for a meeting with the Master. Then fanfares are heard and the owner of the ball, Satan himself, appears before all the guests. The general agiotage is expressed in a sparkling mazurka, which passes into the Sabbath of evil spirits. At the moment of the culmination, Satan drinks for life and being from a creepy goblet. Suddenly, all the guests turn to dust and, together with the last echoes of the ball, fall into Tartarus. Margarita is left alone in the dark. In front of her is a slightly ajar door, in the opening of which a dim light is visible. She enters and sees the devil with her retinue. Sitting with them already at home, Margarita is getting ready to meet her beloved - the Master. But that will be another story... ILLUSIONS
We are pleased to present ILLUSIONS as a new work in the Cross-Art Microfilm genre of our ART Imaginarium, where, at the intersection of arts, we are looking for the closest path to the human heart in order to remind it of the true, primary and eternal... "Illusions" is a poetic meditation on the tension between materialism and the deeper values of empathy, love, and human connection. Set in a metaphorical realm where shadows entwine and illusions blur reality, the poem unfolds as a reflection on the pitfalls of a society governed by pragmatism, cruelty, and moral emptiness. The composition delves into the emptiness of consumerism and societal masquerades, where people become trapped in a hollow pursuit of shadows, disconnected from their true selves. It paints a vivid picture of temptations as false lights, drawing people into a chaotic dance of illusion and dissonance, ultimately leading to spiritual isolation. Yet, amidst the darkness, "Illusions" offers a glimmer of hope. The closing sounding lines urge the listener to embrace empathy and humanity as the only means of salvation. Through connection and understanding, the work envisions the possibility of reunification and the triumph of love, portraying messengers of peace as beacons of light in a world lost in illusions. This music explores themes of disillusionment, societal critique, and the redemptive power of compassion, making it a poignant reflection on the human condition in modern times. NIKÉ: THE WINGED GODDESS OF VICTORY
"Niké: The Winged Goddess of Victory" by composer Natalia Rojcovscaia-Tumaha is a composition that serves as a synesthetic journey through the timeless grace and dynamic presence of Niké of Samothrace. Drawing inspiration from the iconic sculpture, this piece belongs to the genre of SynthSculpt, intertwining and embodies the principles of sound sculpturing, akin to the techniques employed by a sculptor: cutting, engraving, polishing, relief, volume, symmetry, and more. Just as a sculptor meticulously shapes a figure from raw material, this composition sculpts sonic elements with contemporary digital music synthesis techniques. This is composer's sublimated, capacious understanding of this sculpture. Penetrating the image of Niké with an external and internal gaze, Natalia tried to feel and convey the historical context of her creation, the power that she personified, the way she influenced people and what role she played in their lives. Natalia also thoroughly examined Niké's figure and listened to the atmosphere that reigned in the Louvre Museum in Paris where it is presented. The composer wanted to convey the energy of this sculpture and the emotional background accumulated in the atmosphere from its presence and from the impression of people, their mental interaction with this astonishing, miraculous and inspiring sculpture. Through the combination of ancient symbolism and cutting-edge digital music synthesis technologies, this project breathes life into the sonic representation of Niké, paying homage to the timeless symbol of victory while continuing to explore new territories in contemporary musical expression. Victory here has a philosophical unifying principle, like the victory of the human spirit over human destructive negative instincts. The Goddess Niké favors only truly noble, magnanimous and peace-loving people.
